The Queue helps real people run real events. These rules keep it that way. They apply to everyone — organisers, their staff, and guests — and they're part of our Terms of Service.
The spirit of it
Use The Queue to host events honestly and treat the people in your queue with respect. Almost everything below follows from that one idea. If something you're about to do would feel wrong to the guest on the other end, don't.
Be straight with your guests
- Describe events accurately — time, place, price, what's included, and your cancellation rules.
- Honour confirmed bookings and the waitlist order, except where your stated rules or safety require otherwise.
- Only collect guest details you actually need, and handle them per your own privacy obligations.
- Don't use The Queue to run lotteries, raffles, or anything requiring a permit you don't hold.
What's not allowed
You may not use The Queue to:
- break the law, or help anyone else do so;
- promote violence, hatred, or discrimination, or harass, threaten, or endanger anyone;
- host events that are fraudulent, deceptive, or designed to scam guests;
- send spam, or message guests for anything other than the event they booked;
- upload malware, or content you don't have the rights to;
- infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
Don't mess with the platform
- No probing, scanning, or breaking our security or rate limits.
- No scraping, bulk-harvesting guest data, or automated access beyond any API we offer.
- No reverse-engineering, reselling, or white-labelling the service without our written agreement.
- No using the service in a way that degrades it for other organisers.
Content standards
Event names, descriptions, and images must be lawful and not obscene, hateful, or misleading. We may remove content that breaks these rules, and we don't pre-screen everything organisers publish.
If the rules are broken
Depending on severity, we may warn you, remove content, pause or close an event, suspend an account, or — where the law or safety demands — report to the authorities. We'll aim to be proportionate and to tell you why, except where doing so would be unlawful or unsafe.
