These terms are the agreement between you and [Platzhalter: Legal form & name] for using The Queue. We've kept them plain. Using the service means you accept them — so please read them.
Who can use The Queue
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. If you sign up for an organisation, you confirm you're allowed to act for it, and "you" then means that organisation. Keep your login details safe — you're responsible for what happens under your account.
The service, and beta
The Queue lets organisers create events, take bookings, run a waitlist, and check guests in. While we're in beta, features may change, break, or come and go, and we may set usage limits. We'll give reasonable notice before removing something you rely on.
Your responsibilities as an organiser
- You run your own events: descriptions, prices, capacity, cancellation rules, and what happens at the door are yours.
- You are the controller for your guests' personal data and must have a lawful basis to collect and use it. We process it on your behalf — see our Privacy Policy and [Platzhalter: Data Processing Agreement].
- You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy and all laws that apply to your events.
- Any contract for the event itself — and any refund — is between you and your guest, not us.
Guests and bookings
Guests can book without an account. A booking is a request to attend the organiser's event on the organiser's terms; The Queue records and manages it but isn't a party to it. Waitlist promotion, changes, and cancellations follow the organiser's rules and the law.
Fees
Pricing for organisers is on our Pricing page. We charge a flat fee per place — never a cut of your booking revenue. Fees are stated [Platzhalter: net/incl. VAT]; VAT is added where it applies. We may change pricing with reasonable notice; changes don't affect a period you've already paid for.
Intellectual property
The Queue — the software, design, and brand — belongs to us. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it while these terms last. Your content (event details, uploads) stays yours; you grant us the licence we need to host and display it to run the service.
Suspending or closing accounts
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close access if you breach these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if required by law, or to protect the service or other users — proportionately, and with notice where we reasonably can. On closure, your right to use the service ends; we handle remaining data as set out in the Privacy Policy.
Warranties and liability
We work hard to keep The Queue running, but during beta especially we provide it "as is" and can't promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties.
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body, or health. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of an essential contractual obligation (a "cardinal duty"), and then only for foreseeable, typical damage. Liability under the German Product Liability Act and for any guarantee we expressly give is unaffected. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be excluded by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version with a date and, for material changes, notify you in the product or by email. If you keep using The Queue after a change takes effect, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can close your account.
Governing law and disputes
German law applies, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected. Where the law allows, the place of jurisdiction is [Platzhalter: seat of Queue GmbH]. We are not obliged to take part in proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
